Service Description

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: STROKE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM To join Stroke Development, your child must: • Be 4 years or older • Be able to swim independently for at least 5 metres • Be developmentally ready for more structured instruction A SwimStories Survival Course is not required, but readiness and safety are essential. Instructors may adjust placement if needed. If your child is not yet ready, they may be moved to the Survival Swim Course to ensure safe, appropriate progress. PROGRAM OVERVIEW: The Stroke Development Program is designed for confident little swimmers who are ready to refine technique, build endurance, and learn proper swimming strokes. Lessons are private 30-minute sessions, tailored to each child’s ability and progress, and take place at our second location: the Paarl Aquatic Centre (heated, covered 25m pool). The program focuses on: • Freestyle, backstroke & breaststroke foundations • Early diving skills • Breath control & endurance • Confidence, technique & structured progression Children begin at Level 1 and move through three progressive levels at their own pace. Each level is aligned with SwimStories’ international certificate milestones. TERM STRUCTURE & FEES: Stroke Development operates on a 10-week term-based structure, ensuring consistency, confidence, and long-term progress. • Term fees are split into three equal instalments. • Enrolment commits you to the full-term fee. • NO swimming on public holidays or school holidays. • All new Stroke Development students pay a once-off admin fee of R350 (onboarding, processing & scheduling). Term 1 Fees (10-week cycle): • 30 min 1× per week: R4 500 (3 × R1 500) • 30 min 2× per week: R7 000 (3 × R2 333.33) PLACEMENT & PROGRAM FIT: To ensure every child’s success, instructors may adjust lesson type or program placement - e.g., moving a child from Stroke Development to Survival Swim if additional foundational support is needed. These adjustments prioritise safety and developmental readiness. No refunds apply to placement changes. MAKE-UP LESSONS: • 1 make-up lesson per term, allowed only for illness with a valid doctor’s note (space permitting). • No refunds, credits, or additional make-ups for missed lessons, holidays, school events, travel, or any personal commitments.
