Survival Swim Course
(4+ Years)

The advanced survival stage for confident, developmentally ready children.
This course teaches stamina, body control, deeper-water awareness and the full Swim–Float–Swim sequence over meaningful distances.

The Survival Swim Course is designed for children aged 4 years and older who are emotionally and developmentally ready for more advanced instruction.
At this stage, children have the focus, strength and maturity to handle longer lessons and more complex survival skills.

This course expands on everything learned in earlier stages and prepares your child to:

• Move confidently through deeper water
• Maintain body control under more challenging conditions
• Use the Swim–Float–Swim sequence over longer distances
• Make safe decisions in the water
• Build both swimming ability and survival readiness

It is the perfect bridge between toddler survival skills and early stroke development.

SURVIVAL SWIM COURSE

Who this course is for:

  • Children aged 4 years and older

  • Children who are emotionally and developmentally ready for 20-minute lessons

  • Children who have a basic comfort level in the water

  • Children who are ready for structured skill-building and deeper-water experiences

Important: Some children aged 4+ may still need to begin with the Floater Course if they are sensitive, anxious, shy to warm up, or need a slower, more supportive introduction. Instructors will always assess readiness to ensure your child has a positive experience.

What your child will learn:

  • The complete Swim–Float–Swim sequence over longer distances

  • Deeper water awareness and safety decisions

  • Breath control and recovery skills

  • Back floating and independent rolling

  • Early stroke readiness and body alignment

  • Greater stamina and confidence in the water

By the end of this course, children are strong, capable and well-prepared for the Stroke Development Program.

How the lessons work:

This course includes:

• 4 lessons per week (Monday to Thursday)

• 3 consecutive weeks

• 12 private one-on-one lessons

• 20 minutes per session. Longer lessons are appropriate for this age group, as children have the emotional maturity and physical stamina to engage more deeply with instruction.

Progression depends on each child’s age, readiness and comfort level.

Why this method works:

Children aged 4 and older are developmentally able to:

• Absorb more complex instructions

• Combine multiple skills in sequence

• Sustain longer periods of focus

• Build stronger stamina and body awareness.

This course uses all of those capabilities to enhance survival readiness and prepare for the development of technical strokes. The approach remains gentle, structured and child-led, ensuring confidence is built at every step.
