Stroke Development
(Ages 4+)
For confident little swimmers ready to go beyond basics, our Stroke Development lessons build strong technique, introduce core strokes, diving, and survival skills — all while keeping the fun alive.
Our Stroke Development program is designed for children aged 4 and older who can already swim at least 5 meters independently.
These lessons focus on building strong technique, introducing the foundations of freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, diving, and reinforcing vital survival skills.
Each child begins at Level 1 and progresses through three structured levels at their own pace. With our supportive approach and International SwimStories Certificate milestones, your child will gain confidence, strength, and skill while having fun in the water.
STROKE DEVELOPMENT

Address: Paarl Aquatic Centre, Patriot Square, Van Der Lingen, Esterville, Paarl lessons offered by coach Lalie Barnard

Pool: Heated & covered 25m pool

Focus: Building stroke foundations (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke basics), diving, and reinforcing survival skills.

Progression: All children begin at Level 1 and move through three levels at their own pace, with milestones recognised through the International SwimStories Certificate.

Special Note: Make-up lessons are available on Fridays & Saturdays. (maximum of 2 per term if a child is ill). Each child must be booked separately — no sibling bundle bookings.
PAYMENT & NOTICE
Lessons are billed per term only.
If joining mid-term, fees may differ.
A two-month notice period applies for discontinuation.

Important Notice – Course Registration
To ensure every child has the best possible experience in the pool, the Stroke Development Program is only for children who are already 4 years old and can swim independently.
Please double-check that your child meets these requirements before registering. If a child is enrolled in the wrong program, an administration fee will apply, and 50% of the course fee will be non-refundable.
